By integrating advanced bio-feedback technology with professional synthesis, we translate the internal electrical languages of the botanical world into audible, symphonic masterpieces.
We take bio-sonification to an unprecedented level, producing full-scale plant concerts that feature up to eight plants performing simultaneously through our proprietary Symphony system. These performances often evolve into a collaborative dialogue with human musicians, giving birth to a new genre of Interspecies Music. Technology in Harmony:
Recorded using our custom, open-source Symphony and BECA interfaces, this album showcases the power of multi-plant polyphony. Our technology measures micro-voltage fluctuations within plant physiology—driven by photosynthesis and water movement—and converts them into real-time MIDI data. This is a true collaboration where human musicians listen and respond to the plant’s cues, creating a non-hierarchical dialogue between species.

What is Plant Music?
Plant music, is music played by plants. With technology, plants have the possibility to express themselves through the language of human music. Their natural electric currents are measured and divided into scales and rhythms easily understood by humans.
Plant music is a versatile art form which includes nature and environment, science and technology, music, myth, spirituality and direct experience.
How does it work?
By connecting two electrodes to a plant we are able to measure electric resistance within its physiology.
These measurements are converted by an algorithm into digital information about music, and sent into a device that generates sound, like a smartphone, computer or instrument.
This way plants can play music.

Pioneers of Interspecies Art
Masterplants Orchestra is a professional music and technology project led by Tritone Crisantemo. Philosophically rooted in the research-rich environment of Damanhur in Northern Italy, the project combines an intrinsic connection with the natural world with advanced technical engineering. This unique synergy has made the creation of Symphonic Plant Music possible—a sophisticated art form where plants act as the lead performers in a live, generative ensemble.
Since 2018, Tritone has toured globally, performing over 80 concerts across the US, India, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Africa. The project is dedicated to the professional application of plant music in both high-art performances and immersive educational contexts. We have collaborated with a wide variety of institutions, utilizing everything from cutting-edge 3D sound systems at international festivals to hands-on workshops in holistic centers and schools.
A Multi-Disciplinary Experience The unique nature of our symphonic performances makes them a versatile tool for storytelling and discovery. Masterplants Orchestra presentations are designed to engage audiences in critical subjects such as environmental ethics, nature awareness, bio-sonification technology, and avant-garde music production. By making the biological intelligence of plants audible, we provide a sensory bridge that reconnects humanity with the ecosystem through the universal language of melody.
